Water Body Label Codes and Definitions

Water Uses

A 305(b)/303(d) listed water body can have multiple water use classifications separated by a slash.  Water uses may include Coastal Fishing, Drinking Water, Fishing, Recreation, and Wild and Scenic.  Each water body is classified as either Supporting, Not Supporting, or Assessment Pending for each use.

Criterion Violations

A 305(b)/303(d) listed water body can have multiple water quality criterion violations codes separated by a comma. Segments with the evaluation result Assessment Pending or Supporting do not have criterion violations; therefore, this field will read “none.”
